The Equality of War and Insults

They are for the weak

This image doesn’t even begin to demonstrate the longevity of the problem. Humans wage war and humans insult.

We’re in the 21st Century and social media has clearly demonstrated that as a race we have barely advanced.

Technological complications

Yes we laud our technology, the fancy stuff we can build, the split-personality of AI that is both brilliant and open to misuse in too many ways.

We were immediately misusing it, and now we can never again guarantee that someone actually said something, nor that it’s actually them we’re seeing. Is it live or is it AI?

It will likely be disempowering in the extreme in many ways. From the destabilising of societies to reducing the mind to watching hours of videos and influencers on TikTok. Will humanity still be capable of critical thinking?

Why research (which helps to expand the mind) when you can ask AI to write something for you? Something that you’ll probably promptly forget because you haven’t given it the attention that stores the information in your memory.

How is that even possible if you can’t trust the source? I visualise a world where humans are imprinted with a verified human badge. But how does that help if you accidentally start a war because you’ve been AI’d by people who think killing equals victory?

The worst part is that all of this will lead to disconnection, to humans forgetting that each other are real, with feelings, emotions, and the right to live. Especially if your BFF is a robot who agrees with you all the time.

Does this sound dramatic? The level of insults on social media indicate that we’re already on our way to that point if we’re not very careful.

We’re a race too determined to be right, too scared to be wrong, and far too defensive.

An odd equality

How can war and insults, murder and words ever be equal? Because they both prevent positive action. They close down discussion. They prevent understanding and divide us.

They are the problem and we must be the solution. Abdicating responsibility can go on, but where has that ever got us? The best voices silenced by the worst? The best people told there’s no point standing up because you can’t change them?

Firstly, some people can and will change if they’re offered a new way of thinking, by a person just offering not demanding. Giving them space to think and consider, pointing them in the direction of knowledge. Leaving them to decide how it fits.

Secondly, we stop believing that ‘things can’t change’ and start changing them. One strong loving voice at a time. Voices who respect differences and embrace them. Voices that know only love works, beliefs tend to divide, love heals and builds. It’s the only way forward if we don’t want things to get worse.

Realistically life needs to improve for all.

Negativity

There will be people reading this for whom the word ‘negativity’ will be screaming like a klaxon. They will be mentally lecturing me that I don’t understand all the good going on.

I do. Far more than bad. But…

All the time there is bad it needs dealing with. If the good is changing that then it’s great. But all the time there is war, starvation, child grooming, abuse, murder, terrorism, corporate crime, untruthful politicians, broken services, machetes and knives on our streets, guns and missiles in the world. We need to create change not bury our heads in the sand.

Governments need an overwhelming voice of a united people to remind them who votes them in, in a democracy of course.

Many in the UK did not support the war in Gaza, not through any lack of love for Israel, far from it. October the 7th was heinous, the Israelis were bombed too. But the Blitzkrieg that wiped out so much of Gaza and killed so many, also hurt the Israeli people. The hostages had over a year underground in fear of their lives as a result.

We need to keep speaking out.

The point is that so many Israelis and Gazan’s did not know how much people cared.

Equality

War serves no purpose. They end, then there’s another. Money is spent in the millions, which could be spent on infrastructure, health, housing, and so on for people all over the world.

How many impoverished people live in war torn countries? Why don’t the people who want war care?

Insults serve no purpose either. They’re not a solution. If you truly feel strongly you will communicate with the people who don’t think like you and ask why?

If we don’t know what each other knows, and why they believe what they believe, how can we learn? How can we piece together what is going on? How can we come together to sort it out?

War does damage in one way, insulting each other and refusing to talk perpetuates the energy that causes war.

This blog was triggered by two things. Firstly a friend on social media objected to my support of Gaza, even though my post acknowledged the pain of Israel too. I will never forget the 7th October.

The friend said I was taken in by the mainstream media, yet I can’t help feeling she will support the narrative from them that she supports. I’m always neutral, unless it comes to my views on violence of all kinds including unkind words. Then I’m clear.

Words hurt or heal. I asked my friend to clarify. Help me to understand. She did not. Thanks to her I’m none the wiser. She left me in the hands of mainstream media

The second thing was someone telling me that I shouldn’t be talking about it, it feeds the violence, light workers should be sitting at home sending out love. I don’t identify as a light worker. I’m a human doing my best.

I actually follow Ho’oponopono, so I do that. But it’s not enough. Sitting safely at home being loving is silent.

Surely all spirituality has to include caring enough to be a voice, to try to do something. Anything.

I may not be able to do much but I’m going to do this:

Let’s talk, let’s share, let’s educate, let’s spread the word, let’s try to help those who feel that no one cares understand that we do, very much.

When it’s not our battle let us not take sides. That just makes everything worse.

Let’s also remember, it’s usually a small handful of humans that create these huge catastrophes, and we way outnumber them.

Please help. Please say no. Please let people see that you care, that it matters.

For the world

For the future

For the children

People ask all the time why no one shot Hitler. Let’s not have to look the future in the facd, annoying that we didn’t even try.

Who knows who we can reach?

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
