It could be you!
You only expressed an opinion?
About a stranger you don’t know
About a person you wouldn’t recognise on the street
Whose pain is unknown to you
They may look good
But are they broken inside?
They may be holding down a day job
But are they suicidal?
They may not agree with you
But do they have to?
There is no law
Moral or otherwise
That says they’re wrong
And you are right
You have zero evidence that your are right
Just one line
A few words
Out of a lengthy life that you know nothing about
You choose the most vile words
‘Calling it the way it is‘
Shutting the ‘idiot’ down
You love a fight
What if you shut them down forever?
You are one of the mob
Criticising the imperfect
(In your mind)
Even though you are not perfect
You’re proving that right now
In some cases doing the media’s dirty work
Taking out your anger on the world
On people who have done nothing to you
Day after day the decent leave social media
Swapping the poison for a peaceful life
Hopefully one day leaving only the trolls
To destroy each other
How sad
But you’re not safe to be around
You’re a slow poison
Look up suicides related to social media
Recognise what you’re doing
And stop
You’re not God
You’re not right
You’re destroying yourself too
You just don’t know it yet

From Google:
“Official Inquiries: National reviews (such as reports by the Samaritans in the UK) note that suicide-related internet and social media use is present in a substantial portion of young people’s suicide cases, involving searches for methods, viewing triggering content, or communicating distress.”
Also from Google:
“Anger triggers an intense fight-or-flight response, flooding the body with stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. While short bursts are normal, frequent or unmanaged anger causes lasting physical and mental damage, raising the risk of heart attacks, high blood pressure, weakened immunity, and depression.”
