Prejudicial Question!

Dogs or cats?

Nero chilling

We have cats, we love dogs. Cats fit into our lifestyle better, but we would never turn a stray dog away, and no doubt keep it if it got on with cats, after making every possible effort to find its family. Same goes for any domestic pet in trouble.

My husband would even keep a snake, I would leave home with the cats. I would never hurt it though.

The message of dogs or cats

The “I hate cats” prejudice you often hear or “I’m a dog/cat person” are a microcosm of the many beliefs we formulate that do damage to others and the planet.

Why is it better to be French or English? It’s just where you’re born. Why do there need to be blanket judgements of millions of people we have never met? We went to Paris once, you know the place with all the unfriendly people…who fell over themselves to help us. They could not have been kinder.

Why is it better to worship one God than another? It’s only a matter of spelling in different languages, and a single message that’s been built up over time as religions have evolved. Yet we think the spelling means a different being, and it doesn’t.

Even if it did mean man different gods, they all seem to be very nice, so what’s the problem. Bombard me with as many loving universal energies as you like.

Why is it better to be black (like everything from the most gorgeous caramel to the darkest dark chocolate that’s unbelievably good for you), or white (like a milk bottle that’s scared of the sun, although calcium is good for you)? It isn’t, it’s just proximity to the sun and appropriate sun block.

Cats dogs, black white, Jewish/Christian/Muslim. None of it matters. Kindness matters. Love matters. These are the things that create peace, wellbeing and abundance for all. The rest is noise.

I do wonder if anyone reading this will question the order of the religions, it’s just cast in order of appearance, nothing more.

My question is:

Why hate when you can love?

Hate makes you ill, love makes you happy. It’s a no brainer isn’t it.

An inclusive conclusion is…

Just love, forget the rest.

Best love to you as you are, you are what the universe intended.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
