Only one

List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

My ‘job’.

I’m a writer. I write to help others. That’s mostly free.

I try to do it in a lighter way that doesn’t focus on problems, I offer solutions, and ideas for a different way of thinking and living. A way that has helped me enormously.

Practical Spirtuality

That’s the best description I have for it, although in a way it doesn’t feel like ‘being spiritual’ to me, it feels like the best kind of reality.

I believe in a higher energy absolutely, it’s a personal thing, and here endeth any attempt to convince or convert you. If it’s for you, you will find it, maybe through me, via others, or as I did, naturally, organically.

I just know it works for me. I share in case it may help others. I teach it, although I prefer the term mentor, you can’t teach what a person already knows you can only help them find their route into it.

But the entire point of my life learning that I share, is to help people find out who they are, their way, at their own pace. As I did and still am.

To find a way they want to live their life, the beliefs that will support them, and how they can make that work. There is a universal force within us all that just needs to be reconnected. We’re all part of the cosmic whole and all equals.

Hurt became help

Like many people I’ve been deeply emotionally hurt in the past. Never anything physical, but at once point almost complete destruction of my mind. I was hanging on by a very determined thread, somehow knowing that there was good in me and about me, and desperately trusting that despite the opinions of others.

It was a very messy story, and too long, and now too remote a story to share. There was good in me, it was undamaged, unaffected, and I rebuilt from that.

There is good in you, just in case you’re wondering, but bullying, spiteful words, or abuse, will never bring that out. How can it?

The antidote

What I do now, through my writing and groups, and speaking if I get the chance, is the only work I want to do.

The wonderful thing is that it allows for many different opportunities, playwright, performance poet, public speaking, mentoring, Reading, and most importantly, illuminating other people from the inside.

I never wanted to be the great teacher, it’s dangerous, they’re so great you feel you can never be them. Admiration of others isn’t the point, admiring yourself because of what you’ve done and achieved, yourself, is the only point.

I may come across as humble, but I’ve walked this path, getting yourself back, yourself, and remodelling you in a way that suits you can only be done by you.

The entire point is that you were originally screwed up by the beliefs, opinions, and teachings of others who are not you.

You can have support and ideas, but you have to be the one that makes it happen. Otherwise you’ve just listened to someone else again.

Simple – magical – personal

That’s the work. Complication never solved anything, it’s just exhausting and prevents change.

Personal because it must be. I decided who I wanted to be and became that person.

Magical, because of the unique way it’s delivered. Fun, easy, sometimes emotional, and always surprising and uplifting.

To your happiness isn’t just a sign off – this is what I do!

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. This comes from a “knowing” and pure unadulterated care for others. Thank you my darling lady. Synchronicity and serendipity lead me to you and I love journeying with you.
