How do you define success in life?

Easiest answer I’ve ever given. Sufficient in itself. Simple. Straightforward. Not confusing, deep, or complex. And yet…
People will argue against it and say you can’t be happy all the time. That idiots like me don’t understand how the world works. We’re naive. Head in the clouds. Need a reality check.
Because that’s what they personally wish to believe. I don’t.
A clear understanding
Unlike the cynics I know that if I choose unhappiness I will get it more often because I will create it. Subconsciously taking steps that cause everything from a deep sigh to outright irritation or misery.
Because we ARE the architects of our own destiny. FACT.
It’s not the woo-woo cr*p language of the Woke, it is an absolute truth. To deny it strips you of personal power in a critical area of life.
When you can – choose happiness and make it a habit.
Yes I can demonstrate this
I have led a lonely and isolated life. All my life. I know that because I can see when people are not there. I could see when people who were supposed to love, support, and encourage me, didn’t.
The wonderful readers who have stuck with me know about the play I wrote that was destroyed for me. Friends and a family member kneecapping me emotionally. Destroying the experience.
The first husband who married me for cover. My beloved workaholic who would happily kill for me, who is doing everything to support me now, disappearing into work for 14/15 hours a day in the past and struggling to avoid that now.
My life taught me what isolation really is and it isn’t a friend I ever wanted. It helps me to empathise though.
As those magic supporters also know, I have a health condition that I never thought I would cope with. I am but it has its challenges, such as three hospital appointments in the first week of every month. Or this month…on the same day! Plus one Tuesday and the GP Monday! It took it out of me.
But here’s the proof of my happiness theory.
I am not unhappy anymore
Cancer cured a lifetime of loneliness, betrayal, and misery! AND acute anxiety! I am actually so grateful.
I can even write the word! Although I do prefer the term ‘I have a medical condition’. All part of the attaching to happiness theory. Don’t dwell on anything that bothers you keep looking up and out.
I found my happiness inside and it’s seeping out. I feel blessed that I’m on life-long tablets that I can tolerate really well. Instead of feeling all the usual fear and sadness reactions, I surprised the life out of myself when I was told about the treatment. I knew, I just knew that this was a wonderful solution for me. I reacted with a deep joy, happiness, and gratitude
I honestly believe it was that reaction of happiness etc. that brought about the tolerance. I didn’t approach it with fear, I was grateful. Gratitude does rock!
I had to come off them for a month because I had to have a tooth outed, they can affect the healing. I missed them, I was bereft and scared. I was so grateful when I went back on them that I didn’t get all the side effects back.
I was a bit scared of them at first, even though grateful for the treatment. This time I’m settled because they gave me my life back! My energy! My self respect. I thought I’d turned into a lazy slug getting my overworked husband to lift every finger for me. I wasn’t, the condition was taking its toll. I’m normal again except for one thing.
My mind
Has changed so much it’s literally who are you, what have you done with the old Deb, and did you lock the door as you left?!
The perspective I’ve gained is amazing. I really understand the happiness theory. It’s one thing to know logically, but another to feel the truth in your heart.

Helpful suggestion
Amos taught me something recently that I shared with my groups. Might help, can’t hurt.
Create a scene that makes you feel happy and relaxed in as much detail as you can. Then imagine placing it in your head just above your eyes, I see mine as a flat disk with a dome that fits my skull. It fills my head with that feeling and calms my thoughts. Leaves no room for negativity. It really works.
I clear my mind and visualise that beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and happy scene, and let it calm me.
I asked ChatGPT to create it for me.

My groups have done the same and they’re all different. I have nothing to worry about here. Total peace. It worked yesterday.
The big takeaway
Is that attitude really is everything. And – the worst thing that I thought could ever happen to me created a miracle. Or did I have a have in it? 🤣
Attitude is everything and happiness is the greatest healer. Throw in love and you can be challenged, but never be defeated.
Best love
