What are your thoughts about cryptocurrency?
I thought about buying bitcoin a few times but never felt that I understood the way everything works. There were people out there promoting it, but of course they stood to make money and I was wary of getting involved.
Seeing it develop, and the fact that one company has made good on a phenomenal amount of losses for its clients is a hopeful thing. But I understand cryptocurrency is incredibly expensive now.
I’m not happy with the idea of so called money that does not exist, but after one stupid British Prime Minister sold our gold reserves, our money became just paper and metal. Before that it was real, backed by gold.
So is it any different? I would hope it’s more secure but the normal person doesn’t have the information to know that for certain.
You might say get out there and research, I have a research degree and I know how to do that, except in recent years I’ve concluded that the truth is not out there. The truth has been bought by billionaires, corrupted by power players, and completely obfuscated by social media. Opinion rules as truth in the non-ruling areas of society.
One of my favourites on that subject is the incredible Harry Kane, the English football team Captain. In the eyes of social media he is useless. Yet his goal scoring record is epic and consistent.
If you watched the recent World Cup other teams were literal boxing him in or physically holding him so he couldn’t move when the ball came near him. That should tell you what the world’s top teams think, they’re scared to let him have the ball. They did the same to our incredible goalkeeper too at one point; Jordan Pickford.
So the idea on social media that Kane is a failure is junk, as so much of the information out there is nowadays. I used it as an example because you can see the man score, his record is on record. You don’t win the Ballon D’or for being pretty. You’re up against the best in the world. He is respected and effective.
We’re in a post truth age. It extends to people, I’m a psychic medium and I can read people extremely well, the times I want to say “I know that’s not true”, but most obfuscation comes from lack of self worth so I don’t. It’s heartbreaking how many amazing people I ‘see’ who have no self-worth, confidence or respect, yet they are truly beautiful.
Adding all this together, with the mess of our societies, politicians you can’t trust, billionaires that will buy elections, Trump offered to buy votes on live TV. Even in the UK now Nigel Farage is being funded by them.
I am not going to invest in something that doesn’t exist that could be wiped out in a second.
Yes our money isn’t backed by gold, but in a crisis our government would have to find a way to do something. Any private company may not bound by the same laws.
So, cryptocurrency is just another example of the smoke and mirrors we live with in this world, coupled with the hackers trying to destroy anything they can for fun. The public and other players spreading disinformation.
As such I’m not sure there is any information out there I would feel that I have the means to know if I can trust. Research or not. Unless actual goals are being scored.
