If you had to sum up your life philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?

Actually that isn’t it, out of the wealth of different philosophies I’ve learned and come up with myself that one surfaced first. Let’s go with it.
I don’t think it’s easy for me to do it in one sentence because I’ve spent 40 years working with how humans think and act, and I can still be surprised.
The epidemic lack of empathy out there stuns me. The inability to connect to the feelings and emotions of others renders me speechless.
The way society has developed to the point where work and money are the main focus makes me despair. Particularly because for so many people it’s actual survival at stake, and the companies take full advantage of it, the government sets limits of the lowest wage that won’t feed a family.
How can a human be worth less than the costs of the basic necessities of life, food, warmth, and shelter?

As many of you have heard many times, and yes I’m always going to repeat it, kindness is my guidance word for my life. The antidote to my life. It was through unkindness that I learned the power of kindness, who I never wanted to be, and why.
But I was too soft, too accommodating, too understanding. I don’t want a medal for this, it was a severe oversight and failure in the understanding of basic human behaviour. People will take what you give and only the best will recognise what you’re offering.
Similar to a birthday present, I can enjoy this because it’s my birthday. I can enjoy this because it makes me feel good. When the nice person is in trouble…often radio silence. Not unkindness, your role in their life is defined – you help.
So my conclusion is that if anything or anyone is making you unhappy, get that out of your life.
If you can’t leave or ask them to, can’t get another job, can’t avoid. Imagine your mind filled with beautiful white light (although being a celestial being I like the dark and the stars), and visualise that every time something starts to get to you. It will stop the thoughts.
Just like the oxygen mask rule on a plane, take care of yourself first. You can do that in tandem with caring for others. Being aware though when they’re draining you and not making any effort to solve their problems. You’re not a permanent repository for their issues.
In one sentence?
You have a divine right to happiness
Best love
Amorah – Deb
