I Have No Idea

What’s the most underrated movie you’ve ever watched?

I don’t follow ratings.

So…

It’s cold here, how’s your weather? We Brits have to ask that because we have interesting weather. Five weather fronts meet over the UK making us wildly unpredictable. It may be the most fascinating thing about us.

We enjoy one-upping the more predictable weather places.

“How was your weather today?”

“Oh you know, hot. Yours?”

(Person winces knowing they should not have asked that question!)

“Well it was raining until 10 am, then the sun came out for two hours so it was warm and humid for a bit, surprise thunderstorm at 3 pm, a dash of what looked like hail around 6 pm. What looked like a snowflake at 7.30 pm. Been mild ever since but that could change any time.”

“Ah”

“Doesn’t all that hot get boring? Variety/spice of life etcetera.”

We’re probably the only race that pack a cardigan, a jacket, an umbrella, sandals, wellington boots, and sun bloc, just to go to the supermarket!

I am of course exaggerating – but sometimes it would help if we did. We get summer colds because it’s not always hot. Freeze you, make you vulnerable to the cold virus, heat you up and incubate it!

So this is my reply to a question I have no clue about. Either I enjoy a film or I don’t.

I’m one of the James Bond rebels who preferred the far more craggy Daniel Craig to all the pretty boys. In the first two minutes of his first film he looked like a man who could be immediately recruited to the secret services and train them.

The writing was also better as he was a far more fleshed out creature. He had emotions! He wasn’t too cool for school.

Who has a brutal fight then adjusts their cufflinks, smooths their hair, and saunters away without a spec of dust or blood in sight. All the while their opponent is a bloodied broken mess in a heap behind him! But not too bloody s that would ruin the aesthetic!

You might say then that I am a supporter of the most underrated James Bond (by some but not all), rather than any film. The trolling he took for not being pretty enough was disgusting.

Just ask yourself this. Would you want a highly trained assassin protecting your country who was so good looking that he was photographed wherever he went? That he retaliated with a quip? I would want the one who did what it took to protect us, and worried about his hair later!

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
