Simplicity

What are some life hacks that you practice?

Simplicity

Ease

Time to stop and think

There are loads of brilliant life hacks that you can easily look up I particularly like using a binder clip on the edge of a desk to manage cables. Also put your crisps in the freezer once the bag is opened to keep them fresh.

In the UK a potato chip is hot and goes with fish (or anything else I can have a chip with), a crisp is a thin slice of potato cooked until it’s crispy! Which to me is a more accurate description.

Maybe another simple life hack would be descriptions that tell you exactly what something is, or does.

Computer: Creates and stores information in a variety of forms. Has too many features to be bothered with, every update will screw with your mind a bit more! You’ll still forget where you filed something, and waste hours searching the internet for shoes or car parts.

Should I add always needs a long update when you’re under the most pressure?

To me the list at the top is a starting point to the simplest life hack of all…

Keep it simple or drive yourself crazy!

Simplicity is actually a simple subject until you bring emotions into it. Then simplicity becomes complicated!

Have you ever been having a panic attack and someone says “just breathe“? It’s exactly the right advice, you’ve been doing that since you were born, but the feeling of utter panic has temporarily suspended your natural abilities. You can’t even point this out calmly because you can’t breathe!

So when I say that my most important life hack is to keep life simple, I don’t say it lightly, I know how hard it is. I wouldn’t be under a hospital now if I’d sat down and calmly and asked myself “What’s the obvious step here?”

A terror I learned in childhood at a time I couldn’t cope silenced me. Scared me for decades. Yet that simple question would have saved so much trouble.

However, it was the extreme of that lesson that taught me I’d always been right about simplicity.

Hard as it is when life is tough and you’re exhausted, stop, let the panic subside, make a hot drink, then ask yourself what’s the easiest first step!

P.S. If you do stop, allow the panic to settle, made the drink and sat quietly to drink it, you’ve already taken that key step, well done! You just allowed yourself time to regain control.

Simple step, obvious step, critical step.

Allow your stressed mind and worn out emotions time, give them respect. Stress isn’t weakness, it’s too much strength to tolerate cr*p.

So…hope this helps…

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
