Share a photo of your pet and tell us one thing that makes them uniquely them.

Of all our cats he is the most unique. Not the most loved, we love(d) each and every one dearly. I often thank God for all the beauty and love they have brought into our lives.
One of the reasons I stress that inclusive love is because I was the child pushed to one side. No fault of my brother and it certainly did him no good. I understand now Iām older that it wasnāt intentional, my brother had childhood asthma and it was terrifying. It made my parents extra protective.
Having had cats that were unwell I know only too well why your focus goes to the one in trouble. But on a day-to-day basis I have always made sure that I fuss every cat and tell them I love them.
I understand through them that it is possible to feel more connected to one being without loving them one ounce more than the others. I understand now that my parents were more protective of Neil, not more loving.
You donāt understand until you know and can relate.
It felt important to write that part š¤·āāļø.
So one thing?!
Hardly. He is utterly unique. He is cat number ten of 14. We have never had anything like him. He is so intelligent, wildly manipulative (those eyes get what they want), completely stubborn, and makes it hard to be cross with him because heās utterly adorable. So what makes him that way?
- He connects eye to eye which no other cat has done or does.
- He talks to you in little chirrups, mutters, and the odd miaow in several different tones. They all mean something and we know exactly what they mean. He is very clear.
- He will tap you with a paw, and if you ignore him out comes the claw. He doesnāt scratch, he just hooks it in to your clothes and starts tugging. His eyes say āIām not going to stop and we donāt want to rip anything do we?ā
- Heās determined, stubborn, and works adorable so well he gets everything he wants. He rewards you with a lot of love.
- He can guilt trip you like no one Iāve ever known. Without being able to say a word he can make you feel like Atilla the Hun just using his eyes and the odd soft but slightly broken miaow.
- Heās incredibly intelligent and a master of manipulation.
- Most of all heās taken on four tiny, naughty kittens and loved and watched over them. He doesnāt blink when someone new turns up. Never lifts a paw to them until theyāre adults, when a gentle nip of the fur at the back of their necks is enough to say āstopā.
- Most importantly he is the kindest soul.
I love my cats because their capacity to love new incomers, and us, is off the charts.
āCrazyā animal people will often tell you that they like animals because theyāre far kinder than many humans.
Iāll tell you that when humans can match that kind of unconditional love and acceptance I might put us right up there with animals.
I know we have that, but Iām still not sure when Iām muttering about someone or something that Iām quite their equal. Although of course, I donāt know what theyāre actually thinking! š¤£š»š
Best Love
