What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

It will always be seek happiness, but it’s far from the only great piece of advice I’ve received in 69 years.
If I had to offer thoughts – a term I prefer to advice for some reason – it would be from this random range.
- Don’t let the world make you cynical, only the worst is reported in the news.
- You are the only power in your life, don’t give it away.
- Some people are born to live an isolated life, don’t think it’s because something is wrong with you. You’re probably very sensitive to the emotions of others and actually need that peace. I do. I’m highly empathic. I love people, but I need to recharge.
- Loads of friends don’t equal likability or popularity, the ones who stick by you do. Better to be popular with one or two people than judge yourself because you’re not surrounded by hundreds of adoring fans. I have friends going back over 30 and 50 years.
- You are enough, don’t let people keep asking for more.
- No human is perfect. Fact! Own that and don’t let anyone demand perfection of you.
- Think about your life, don’t drift through it. Otherwise you’ll be full of regrets long after you can change anything. Change it now.
- Do what is right for you, thoughtfully and considerately, you must live the right life for you.
- Be happy?
- Have I mentioned that before?
- The whole be happy thing?
- Probably have but just in case.
- Be happy!
