What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

Healthy mind, healthy body.
Physical fitness does help the mind, so they go together. However if you’re depressed you probably won’t exercise, you’ll hide quietly indoors trying to escape from the world.
In the West we do not prioritise the mind anywhere near as much as they wisely do in the East. We should.
Meditation is an important part of mind support and healing. However, one of the problems is the busyness of the modern world. Try telling a full time working parent, with children to feed, homework to supervise, bath time to deal with, and a house to keep clean, that it’s important that they take time to meditate every day. That isn’t going to fly.
This does not mean that you can’t help yourself though. So here are a few simple tips:
- Listen to music you love, even if only for ten minutes before you go to sleep. Preferably orchestral. Sit back, relax, listen with deep concentration.
- Visualise yourself sitting in a place you love, forest, beach, garden, wherever. You’re happy, relaxed, radiant, and at peace. There’s a huge smile on your face. Perhaps you’re lying down with your arms up behind your head just soaking it all in. Hold that thought. You can do this as you go to sleep. It’s a nice, positive thought to focus on.
- Have a 3 word positive mantra to repeat, repeat, repeat, before you go to sleep and on waking. Peace, happiness, perfect health. Fun loving, joyful, prosperous, healthy. Joy, success, health. You get the idea.
- Don’t go to sleep at night worrying about the day, or the next day. As best you can think only good thoughts. You can dredge up good memories, think about things that make you laugh, you can imagine where you want to be in life, make sure it’s amazing. Let the day go, create a better mindset for the next day.
- If you’re into visualisation, imagine white light coming down through the top of your head and all around you, cleansing the body and energy field. If you love God, then add in golden light in the same way.
These are by no means the techniques of an expert meditator, but they’re small things that might make a world of difference, and they can all be done in bed. No matter how busy you are, you have to go to bed and wake up. Make 5-10 minutes for you.
Healthy mind, healthy life, healthy body, healthy attitude.
Best love

You are very welcome Tish. Meditation is a learned art (that I’m still learning) and is easy to take too big a step and put yourself off. Which is twice as easy to do when life is busy. I was advised this on one of my courses and I find it works well. Even when you’ve done a bit of meditation, sometimes you can’t relax, so this is always a good back up. I do hope it works for you. X
