It’s Mental

What does freedom mean to you?

Years of mental health struggles mean that to me freedom will always be based around state of mind.

If I feel good then life is good.

The problem I’ve had is that, with very few exceptions, the people that have surrounded my in my life don’t tend to be uplifting or positive. I would say that 90% of the cause of my anxiety has been the attitude of those around me, going back to age 6.

This has meant trying to maintain my mental health despite them rather than because of them. Those who are gentle, loving, and kind, are pearls beyond price.

Empaths

Don’t just empathise with others, we feel the energy of others. A few words can feel like a sucker punch to us.

Then that’s a small price to pay for the ability to understand others when no one else does. My compassion is built on my personal experiences plus that ability to feel how others are feeling and understand it.

Yes it’s crippling when you get the nasty words hurled at you, especially as tempers and nastiness are always unnecessary, but I wouldn’t change it for anything as I can help people like me. Help them to feel worthwhile again.

So yes, freedom is feeling good and there’s nothing more important. Always remember that and if someone makes you feel worthless three times, walk away fast.

You weren’t born to take the brunt of their past or their personality. No matter what they think or how justified they feel.

Walk on – find the good people, they are out there.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
