Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

I haven’t had a real family Christmas since 1990. We couldn’t have children. It’s been just us for 33 years.
I’m not complaining, my family get an F minus for family-ness. They cut me off in favour of the ex my friends could see were destroying me, in 1991. It never came right again. My friends described themselves as stunned/not stunned.
The only person who put it right was my mum. I’ll never forget that and admire her tremendously because of it. I have great gratitude for that courage as she was always my best friend. So incredibly wise her words are often taken for my Spirit Guides. She put me and sad back on the same page too. If you’re reading this mum – thank you.
As to Tony, his family are 13,000 miles away.
The point?
Loneliest time of the year
Out there are thousands if not millions of people who dread the festive season. Their homes are filled to the brim with those who are not there.
Oddly I found that I missed those who have passed less than those who could have been there and weren’t. Many would probably understand that. I’m also blessed because I feel my late family around me: the love link never breaks. Make no mistake about that.
Love cannot die.
Yes Christmas is a family time. But have you really no space, not a little spare food to at least invite someone who is alone? To open your hearts and homes and take some of the pain away? To make them feel as it they matter?
Please think about it this Christmas.
Big love
Deb xx
That is a really good point in an important reminder. Thank you.
