Spring but All of Them

What is your favorite season of year? Why?

I was born in late Spring. It’s my favourite season. The first Snowdrops, the first Croci, the first daffodils. Hope. Joy. Beauty. Possibilities.

Mother Nature can gift us so much that buying things in the shops can’t.

However, would I appreciate the Spring so much if it didn’t follow the darkness of winter?

A time that has its own place. The Earth rests, the Southern Hemisphere takes its turn with the sun. How could you deny anyone that? I feel sorry for those on the equator who never get these changes.

I actually love the winter. The dark nights. Misty mornings. Snuggling up under blankets. A warm fire. A hot chocolate. The way the world goes monochrome when it snows, except the evergreen trees, making a stand for the return of the light.

Summer is probably my least favourite, heat plus humidity drains me.

However, we do have air conditioning nowadays so I go to the shops if it’s really hot and cool down. Large shopping malls are extremely useful.

But who can deny the beauty of summer? The relaxation of the heat as long as you don’t have to move. Imagine sitting in the chairs above.

When I went to Italy I was fine in 30 degree temperatures, because it was a dry heat, I didn’t perspire. I can’t stand perspiring.

The UK tends towards humidity. Florida is worse, we went there early in the spring as per my late uncle’s advice. It was so cold I wish I’d brought a warmer coat. On the last day it changed! It felt like zero to thirty all at once! I didn’t have the strength to cross a car park!

I love Florida though. The energy there is beautiful. I love America. They have everything on one continent! So does Europe. Islands can be boring if they’re not in the Caribbean or some such.

Autumn is also a great favourite.

The colours, the skies. October skies in the UK are a very deep blue at times, nothing like it. It’s as if God is saying “Let’s show off these trees!”

God really shows us how beautiful we should be.

The natural ways are far more sensible.

  • In the Spring you sow the seeds of the year
  • In the summer you tend the strongest shoots
  • In the Autumn you harvest
  • In the winter you rest, reflect, and plan, ready for the spring again.

Our problem is we’re full on all the time nowadays. We breed to learn the lessons of weather.

Happy Tuesday

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
