Reclaiming My Life

What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?

Life can become all about others, a place where you fit in where you can, wherever you can, but don’t seem to appear very often.

This isn’t good for you, it isn’t good for those around you, and it definitely isn’t good for the younger generation. Be careful what you teach them.

It isn’t a deliberate choice, it creeps up on you. There you are trying to be a considerate person, a good partner, parent, child, friend. And bang! Your life becomes a jigsaw puzzle of their needs. Throw in work and there’s very little space left to just be.

You may feel that you have plenty of time to do the things you want to do so you don’t fall into this bracket. But who and what owns your head space?

Do you find that you’re doing things and time has slipped by unnoticed? It’s clear you’ve been shopping because there’s stuff in your basket? It’s clear you’ve been at work because your to do list has ticks? The play was funny but you don’t remember much?

Where was your mind? Miles away with your dad? Mentally checking the items you need to wash for the next school football game? concerned for your partner? The list can be endless with the odd “have I had lunch?” squeezing through the chaos.

All these things are okay, what’s not okay is to lose yourself amongst them. To lose your mind to others. To live a life of foggy recollections interspersed with tonight’s tea and football kits. To forget to eat.

To not be you.

I haven’t been me for a long time. Today I reclaim me.

Any idea where I am? 🤣

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
