What could you do more of?
I’m a writer and therefore part recluse, which makes it hard for me to get out of the house some days. I’m at my happiest pottering around with my cats.
Added to that I’m an empath, different from empathy, it means that I feel the feelings of others as if they’re my own. If there’s a lot of stress and unhappiness out there, it’s like I open my front door in a solid brick wall. There are ways to manage it, but it also makes simple going out into something more complex.
I had an odd ability to know when other people were unwell and what was wrong, not just people I knew, but people connected to them, and sometimes walking along the street I’d suddenly think of an illness and it would scare me. Why had that popped into my mind?! I’ve closed that ability down.
If you’ve often wondered why you’d rather curl up quietly indoors, this could very well be a reason. For empaths negative emotions feel like pure poison. Covid was so very sad, but everyone was indoors and the air was clear.
If you’re a hypochondriac you may actually be a medical empath. The test is random fears appearing out of nowhere. Keep diary notes and track it. That’s how I worked it out. What popped into my mind? Note it. Listen out for it. Remember that you will also be picking up fear and depression. Your mental health may not be your own.
For both, wear an obsidian necklace or bracelet, and don’t forget to cleanse it, there are plenty of methods on line, but outside in moonlight on a full moon is one. It’s a protective stone, aced just knowing that reminds you that all the bad stuff isn’t yours
There you go, as such, going out for a walk doesn’t mean to me what it does to others, and it’s far from simple.
Fun!!!!
Having used this question to suggest a couple of things that might be the true causes of completely unexplained anxiety or frequent, random, health fears when nothing is wrong, I’ll end on a more positive note.
I need more fun! We’ve started going out more, visiting the theatre, seeing comedies, getting back to driving distances to visit new places. That’s all good.
Thanks to one of these often amazingly thought provoking questions, I’m going to get back into listening to uplifting music.
I play badminton, which I love, and I’m looking for opportunities to do more. I want to get my play writing going again and maybe do an Alan Ayckbourn and set up my own group to test, perfect, and perform the plays.
But I’ve also realised that I need to live somewhere where there’s a lot to do close by. Although we couldn’t afford the eye-wateringly expensive centre of London, not only is there masses to do, but the energy is surprising, and perfect for an empath. So many different people milling around means that the energy shifts lightening-fast and you don’t have time to pick up anything clearly.
I do need to be somewhere energetic, busy, with theatres, museums, cosy bars, unique coffee shops, and goodness knows what else, right on my doorstep.
Live somewhere that people can have fun, and you’ll pick up a great vibe.
Hope this has been useful. If you think you may be an empath or medical empath, don’t hesitate to make contact for a chat. I can anyways do a free webinar. I suffered in ignorance for too long myself not to throw in a bit of free help and support.
