Good world bad inhabitants?

We all know we need to take more care of the planet, appreciate it more, honour what it gives us, those things are a given. We worship unseen gods, yet we don’t treat the planet that literally keeps us alive with nearly the same respect.

Our lives seem drab sometimes. We find reasons to argue and fall out with each other. Reasons that others are wrong, deluded, stupid. We vote in politicians and turn on them. We set up celebrities and then rip into them. We find the one and leave them.

I hate quantifying things in terms that seem so negative, but I honestly believe that we could all do with an injection of optimism. This poem expresses that feeling.

Today the sun is shining
the sky is blue
and it’s a good day

Yesterday was a bad day
but the sun still shone
and the sky was blue

So is it us that makes a bad day?
Or bad things that make a bad day?
Or is there no such thing as a bad day
except being me and you

Are all days good days
except for me and you?

Is the world a bright and happy place everyday
only we’ve forgotten
how to be bright and happy?

Do we hear so little because we shout so much?
Do we see so little because we cry so much?
Do we love so little because we hate so much?

Is the world a good place
despite the things we do

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
