Which relationship has taught you the most about yourself?

Try looking them up – you might find yourself 😍

This is a very hard one, the facts of relationships with me are not pretty and wouldn’t make for a good read. So how to put this?

Best to focus on me because I have learned a lot of things about me through relationship that I’m grateful for. Oddly if I’d been well liked I may have missed out on so much good.

Different doesn’t mix well

I doubt if I’m alone in any of this, but I can only speak from my own perspective.

I was born different. I knew it at a very early age. I obviously had no words for it then and I don’t now, it just is, often uncomfortably so.

As far back as I remember I felt older than my parents. As if I had two minds, one was being a child and one was observing them. That hasn’t changed. Thankfully neither were judgmental.

In my work I have a strong ability to connect with people, but it’s often a small group of people. Loyal though, as I am to them.

From a stage I can keep an audience with me easily. I think they sense that I’m truly here to help, genuinely care, and my sense of humour is a blessing.

However, alone I struggle to connect. I have had so many amazing people in my life that I’ve truly valued and loved walk away, for no reason they ever shared, that I don’t even try to make more friends. What I have is wonderful, and wonderful is way more than good enough.

If a new friend turned up though I’d be delighted. Never be too old to make friends.

My guess at why

I simply don’t think the same as other people. I believe I know why and it might sound a bit odd but it evolved naturally for me. I followed a path and knowledge kept arriving to lead me.

I feel I’m what they call a Starseed. There is a theory that there are many groups of beings in the Universe. That we visit other dimensions to gain experience, but Starseeds are primarily here to help. As such, if I am a Starseed, then I’m happy to be here for that reason.

It does develop you though so it’s a win/win. I know I’m a better person than I would have been thanks to the blessing that found me.

Thank goes it did as nothing else was working in my life at the time, I see that as destiny talking now.

“A nudge in the right direction might help her.”

“Okay, throw a book at her.”

“Try sticking a brick in the book! Ah that worked!”

So my best guess at the way my life has worked out is the ‘different’ needs its own tribe, and it may never be a large tribe. But a few good people is definitely good enough, and I’ve got way better than that.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
