If you could pick any fictional animal to be your lifelong companion (like a Pokémon or fantasy pet), what would it be?

Who on earth needs a fantasy pet at my age? Also, we never had children so except for the Pokémon thing, which obviously holds no interest for 60 year olds, I have zero idea what they are. Nor do I care. Do they purr?
Fantasies are great, but never forget the thousands of homeless pets out there just begging to be loved. Especially the less pretty dogs and the black and tuxedo cats.
Thanks to America the Brits have picked up the false attitude that black cats are bad luck, whereas they’re good luck here. That or they’re too difficult to photograph. A terrible photographer blaming their subject rather than their inability to take a good photo.
Tuxedo cats are the hardest of all to home, yet they are stunning. But then humans judge each other by colour don’t they?
If suddenly you find yourself wanting a cat, dog, rabbit, guinea pig, that’s the sign that a pet of yours from the spirit world is here waiting for you. Search with your heart and you’ll always find them, I’ve done it 14 times and they’ve all been wonderful.
Go to a rescue centre, walk along the cages, you’ll know when to stop. It’s a mystical experience. Find your pet with your heart. If you don’t get that feeling go back later, or go to another centre.
Pets are soul family too.
There follows proof that black cats are not hard to photograph, Tuxedo cats are beautiful and the sweetest cats. And I would not bother with a pet that doesn’t make me smile or fill my heart with love every day. What on earth is the point?
Okay, if children collect Pokémon toys to have as many as possible, that’s yucky. But if parents buy them fantasy pets to teach them pet care – that’s wonderful. There can always be a good side!
Every living being deserves love. Often the worst of people never received it. Perhaps they were given fake pets to keep them company and eventually gave them the outraged cat treatment.
Never dismiss a human or pet because of their colour, it could cost you a lot of happiness.

Great post and I love the photos, especially of how silly cats can be 😉
