What’s one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in life?

The meaning of my life is being there for others who feel alone and lost.
The reason I’ve only recently discovered this is that I spent far too much of my life allowing myself to be hurt, as you may imagine it seriously compromised my greatest strength – my sense of humour. Plus I was emotionally exhausted.
I had to manufacture a crisis to escape.
I tried always to be the person I knew I should be, which I learned from others not being pleasant or honest. As you may imagine it was taken advantage of.
I’m no saint, nor even aiming for that, I just don’t want to do damage. To ever make someone feel as I have for most of my life.
That crisis eradicated the past for me and now my only focus is turning the present into the gift of my future.
That’s what I wish I’d known. That kindness and decency must have a pause button. Be who you want to be but remember it’s sacred, not a doormat for others to wipe their feet on and leave.
Hit the pause button and show them the door, then carry on without the pressure of someone constantly challenging who you are.
Here endeth a long, boring, miserable life lesson. As to now?

Metaphorically speaking, I can’t have the hounds of hell after me, I have cats!
Best love
