Ugh

If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?

I have no problem with tattoos as long as they’re not on me.

When I was a little girl my uncle had them, over the years they faded and wrinkled, that didn’t look nice. I decided I didn’t like them then.

If others want tattoos that’s fine, I even like some of them. What I can’t get my head around though is putting on a stunning evening dress and having odd bits of tattoos ruining the look. It seems to clash.

If I were to lose my mind then there would only be one thing, 14 cat’s names with room for more. Maybe a dog or two.

I actually think it’s rather lovely to ink the names of those you love into your skin. Your child’s birthdate and weight. To be a walking canvas for love is a beautiful thing. This obviously includes pets, and maybe Barry Manilow.

I thought about my Frister but no. It would have to be huge, beyond colourful, sparkly, noisy, and announce its presence through all but the thickest jumper. Nothing else would properly express that force of nature. She’s so different from me, and I love that about her. Fearlessly, beautifully, herself.

Her tattoo of me would be “Deb’s hiding around the corner cuddling a cat”. I’m actually a very strong personality, crazy sense of humour, Gemini. I can do all the stage stuff, talks not acting, but I only seem to be able to launch the full crazy for a purpose.

That’s fine, that’s me. Gemini’s have two sides and I like both of mine, powerful when I’m needed, but never dominate a room inappropriately. It’s something I can do too easily and I’m very aware of that.

I’m happy watching and listening.

So really, apart from those beloved names, there’s nothing I would want. Not even Tony, he’s etched into my soul.

Best love – especially to the inky people, being yourself is always perfect. One thing we humans need to remember is that what’s not right for us personally is not always wrong. Only the whole crime/violence thing is an outrage.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
