My Cat

If you had to be an animal for a week, which one would you be and why?

Nero

Particularly this one. He’s loving, he’s kind, he raised our most recent kittens, they still adore him. He’s so chilled we don’t really need a fridge. When he visits the vets he explores everything then flops out on the floor as if he’s at home.

I so want to be like him. Mind you, I wouldn’t demand quite so many biscuits, he’s a little on the chubby side but you didn’t hear that from me.

The beauty of having a pet is they give humans a chance to demonstrate unconditional love. A gift beyond price.

To be stressed up to the eyeballs, then see them, and everything goes away but the love. I would really like to be a creature who can generate that for poor beleaguered humans. I would also like to experience that, which is why I would only want to be my cat.

I came into this world with so much love to give; I can’t recall meeting a person I couldn’t have liked. I know that the fact that I came through as this person is important, love is what this world needs. Desperately.

If you stop for a moment and think about all the hatred. Worse still the pride that people take in hatred. Choosing anything they can lay their hands on: race; gender; colour; religion; wealth; poverty; tribe; politician. It’s so pathetic and absolutely incomprehensible.

How on earth does hate make the world a better place? It only destroys and we’ve known that since the dawn of time. We’ve seen it, heard it, experienced it. Yet still some humans embrace it as a way of life.

I sometimes hope there is a hell and all the haters have to live in it together, for eternity and beyond. No need for God or the devil to punish them, they’ll do it themselves.

But even that can’t be a way I allow myself to think, it’s a step down a very wrong path. When I feel that, usually in times of extremis such as 9/11 💖, I turn my thoughts around and bring them back to God, to the real me, and pray for their healing.

I don’t want to be anyone else. Even in a week where a young man took a baseball bat and drove over 4 hours to beat a 78 year old politician to death. Virtually the entire country is asking just how anyone could do that! We’re stunned. If you’re not there’s something very wrong with you.

She was an old battleaxe, totally dedicated to her country and its people, tremendous fun, irrepressible, and she received the highest accolade I ever heard for a politician: she always answered the question.

If you too came here to love, ignore being laughed at, ignore being insulted, don’t let them change you. You are exactly what the world needs and God bless you for your courage in being that way. It takes a backbone of steel.

Always ensure though that you have something or someone who reinforces that feeling of love within you, you need a top up, you need supporting, and right now we need a direct energy link to God, who is, after all, love.

Do you think the clue ‘God is love’ was too subtle? 🤣

Best love and more love and only love

Amorah – Deb

Lily loves her mummy cat! He encourages that kind of love. Let’s all be like Nero. They send their love.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. If i answer this prompt, I would be like Virgo, too, who looks at me, brushes my legs, and meow slowly, then gets his treats.🤩

I think most of the pet lover are good people since they can even love a pet. How much more a human?

Love and hugs to you, Deb!

  2. Nero sounds like a genuinely wise soul — the way he raised the kittens and flops out at the vet like he owns the place says so much about his temperament. I love your line about pets giving us the chance to demonstrate unconditional love; that reset from “stressed to the eyeballs” to just love the moment you see them is so real. Choosing to come back as the one creature who can generate that for people is a beautiful answer to the prompt.
