Should Have Checked This First!

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

From the puberty blog but equally pertinent

I just wrote a blog about puberty! 🤣

However, there’s always more! So much more. I will attempt to be succinct! Wish me luck!

Thoughts not advice

I know better than to try to put an old head on young shoulders. Life experience is of limited use in a changing world, and the world has never moved so fast in as many wrong directions at once.

  • Trust yourself to know what’s best for you
  • Rebellion is sometimes necessary to save yourself. Used in the form of quietly walking away.
  • If people are horrible to you they are just being themselves. It’s nothing to do with you, you’re just the target.
  • When possible walk away from any situation where you and the person or others involved do not have a respectful relationship.
  • Don’t take your self image from anyone else.
  • Don’t let anyone tell you who you are, find out for yourself.
  • If you decide you have a weakness, own it, change it.
  • Focus your life on happiness and fun. It is possible to bring both into every area of normal life.
  • If you lose someone you love, they will always be a part of you, you will carry them with you to the end of your life. Honour them by healing and living a good life. Love never dies.
  • If you hate your career change it. We don’t thrive in the wrong places.
  • Smile at yourself in the mirror everyday and say I love you. Because you should love you.
  • Only human isn’t a cliché it’s a statement of fact, and that includes you.
  • If you need help seek it, not seeking help is the weakness.
  • Treat pets as precious or don’t have them.
  • Travel broadens the mind. it’s a wonderful world full of incredible people.
  • They’re not out to get you, whomever ‘they’ are. If you’re not rich and had a hard start in life, change that. Only you can hold you back.
  • Love as much as you can, everyone that you can, every animal, your people, your country. But leave space for others, no country is more special than any other.
  • Skin colour is just gift wrap, prejudice could cost you the love of your life, your best friend forever, a terrific job, to refuse life saving treatment. We are all the same within, don’t judge by colour.
  • There are 16 different genders, male and female are only appearances, genes and hormones don’t care about that. You shouldn’t either.
  • If you’re going to have a child, love it, be there for it, work on your relationship, or use contraception. Children can’t protect themselves from adults.

I could go on, but that will do.

Best love

P.S. I didn’t mention money because it’s a nice to have, but it doesn’t define you.

Always

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
