Double-edged Sword

Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?

Life is a series of lessons, from I’m ‘squashed’ as you fly out of the birth canal, to why did I marry them, what possessed me to buy that outfit, to where did I put my glasses, when you get older.

Looking back can remind you that you’re learning this lesson for the second time – double edged sword you feel twice as dumb!

However, it’s good to take note of lessons learned, but I’ll guarantee you that when you think you’ve learned the lesson it will come at you in a different way, and confound you again.

As anyone who’s been married or partnered more than once will tell you.

You were never going to get involved again, you did. You were never going to fall in love again, you did. You certainly weren’t ever going to put up with bras drying in the shower, male undergarments and socks strewn across the bedroom, but you did.

We were never going to buy a house again where the kitchen, bathroom, and shower room needed decorating. Out of sheer desperation we did. We’re determined not to next time, wish us luck, the moment a house hugs us we lose our financial minds!

So don’t look back too much. Trust who you are now. Be in the generous present moment, and never forget that whatever you messed up…

Stay optimistic, keep exploring what life has to offer, be young at heart, and blame every mistake on youth even if you’ve made it at 90!

The universe is billions of years old, we’re mere youngsters!

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
