Fuzzy and Indistinct

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

I have no morning rituals. The only mornings I do are midnight to 1 am. My energy kicks in at 4 pm.

I guess the first hour is the same as anyone else who’s retired, book and coffee. When I worked it was:

  • Open eyes
  • Close them again
  • Pretend work isn’t happening
  • If I get up now I’ll easily be on time
  • If I get up now it will be a scramble
  • If I get up now I will be late
  • Okay so I’m late
  • Tomorrow I will get up on time
  • And repeat

I didn’t like my jobs because they weren’t something I ever wanted to do. Do work that you enjoy and you will enjoy going to work. Simple as that.

However, I understand that there are people who can get up early and get everywhere on time. I always thought I was lazy or something. Turns out I have ADHD, which isn’t what I thought it was. I fit a lot of the description including being at my best when I’m at the wire.

I would always let my homework or university work wait until the very last minute, and that pressure bought out the best in me. Which is a really good thing right now.

Also becoming easily distracted and losing an hour. And I learned today that going off on a tangent when you speak and yet returning to the exact spot you wandered from, making complete sense of it all, is an ADHD trait.

No matter what the issue is in life it can often be both a strength and a superpower. As long as I don’t want to get anywhere on time. Except the vets. I get there on time, and always with the cat, which is an achievement.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
