You Have to Smile

What was the best compliment you’ve received?

My dad was everything to my mum. She absolutely adored him. So when she told me that I was everything my father was, that was a stratospheric level of compliment. Until she said:

“And it’s done you as much good as it did him hasn’t it?”

Courage and respect

In truth the decent get very little respect. The power hungry will even support war if it brings them more money and power.

You only have to look at social media at this time in history to see that people who believe in not killing people are laughed at. I will never get my head around that.

People who believe in love, respect, and inclusion, are called woke. I will put my hand up to being awake to shocking behaviour and the need to negate evil with love. With no shame whatsoever.

To me, social media has shown us one thing, how sick our societies are, and what makes that so clear are the voices of the decent people speaking out for respect and inclusion, and the incredibly spiteful replies they get.

Back to mum

And yet, and yet, will my mum’s comment always apply? Will those who just want everyone and every living thing, including the planet, to be happy, healthy, and live in peace, always be denigrated for being too stupid to understand reality?

A reality that throughout our societies, top to bottom, there are too many people with evil in their hearts, focused on money, taking what they want through violence. Raping where they could love, abusing where they could be a parent, battering their wives, committing crimes, using racist language (which is not specific to white people). All just because they can and want to.

Starting wars and justifying wiping out tens of thousands of innocents. Children!

This is not all about men, but it is to a greater degree.

And they need to find the courage to stop. We all do. Every angry word fed that energy.

As such, despite mum’s observations, I won’t change, but I will always hold that complaints close to my heart with great gratitude.

Best love

Stay safe

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
