Birth of a Dancing Star

If there were a biography about you, what would the title be?

One must have chaos in oneself
to give birth to a dancing star

Nietzsche

I love this saying, it made me feel that my past was worthwhile. However, I do disagree with the word ‘must’.

It’s wonderful if you can use chaos as fuel for a happier, healthier, more successful ‘you’, but it would be so much nicer if you became a dancing star through joy, enthusiasm, and self-belief.

However, it is a win/win scenario. Whether you achieve that through chaos and struggle, or natural optimism and enthusiasm, you are still a dancing star, and that’s magical. Take it from someone who knows.

You don’t have to change because you’ve been hurt, change if you need to.

A few tips

It’s really hard to believe that you can create positive change when you’re really down. I used to say that if people wanted to put me down any further they’d have to dig me up first. That’s how it felt to be me.

So, when I decided that I had to change I felt I was coming from a point below zero. So how do you find the energy for change when you’re that broken, and make it happen?

  • Understand that it’s you that has to change. You can tinker with the external – new job, partner, house – but if you remain the same person you’re likely to slip back into your old ways. If indeed you ever truly leave them. Become a new person who can create your new life.
  • Take it slowly. Come up with a plan and start with the easiest thing. if you try something big you’ll almost certainly fail, start really small and easy and build on each tiny success. By the time you’re really creating a difference it will only be another small step, you’ll be so used to it.
  • Do it for you, no one else.
  • Don’t ask the world and its brother what they think, that way lies fragmentation; as in trying to embrace each opinion. You decide.
  • Get help. Going it alone is hard, but a professional counsellor, coach, or whatever kind of therapist resonates with you, can be invaluable.
  • Keep a journal to track your progress and work out your thoughts and feelings.
  • Do some form of relaxation, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi. The ability to relax is a gift from God.
  • Don’t give up on you. Others might, you never can. You are all you have, and that is a personal power you must embrace.
  • When you’re where you want to be, reward yourself with something really nice to remind you how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved. A piece of jewellery that you can wear every day can be a talisman to keep you on track.

I hope those ideas are helpful. I can vouch for them, I know they work. 💖😉🤣😍💖

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
