Uninspired

You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

Normally I can find some inspiration for any question, but this one landed with the thud of a dead wet fish. Nothing! Nada! Zilch!

However, at least trying to reflect on it; I think it depends very much on the nature of the news.

Whether it brings relief – lost child, adult, or pet found safe. Whether it brings a lottery win – financial relief – but remember that winners have got through £164 million inside two years. Don’t ask me how but they did. Whether it’s excellent health news.

It would depend on what’s going on with you and what’s important to you. As such I couldn’t come up with one clear answer.

Big celebration? Virtually no one to invite.

Millions? Best to say nothing. People get very weird when friends suddenly become wealthy. Family can become far too fond of you and apply the emotional screws.

Great health news? Utterly brilliant and probably shout it from the rooftops.

I guess it would be about what you need at the time, and what matters to each individual.

If a relative was seriously ill and the money would save them – fantastic! As long as it did. If it couldn’t I think that would probably hurt. Most decent people would ask themselves what good it is if they can’t have the one thing they so desperately want.

It’s a deep question with many avenues to consider and I’m not really in the mood. For me the joys of life are simple: every living being healthy, happy, and safe, with sufficient to meet their needs. That’s pure joy right there.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
