The Rebel Mentor

I started off softly-softly

This is a new venture for me. In future it will mainly be the image with a short comment.

The obvious point of this meme that we humans often miss, is that there is no perfection clause in the human condition, nor a button we can use to switch perfection on. I’d say not even a programme we can run, but computer programmes can be as glitchy as any human and twice as frustrating.

Yet we can expect perfection from ourselves and others, that’s the true meaning of a hiding-to-nothing. It won’t be happening.

The rebel driver

What drove me to explore this method of working was that although I love all the beautiful, soft memes, I also know that a bit of a wake up call doesn’t do any harm. I’m working to create something that makes people think differently about the problems they want to solve or issues they face, without being wordy or heavy-handed. Boiling it down to the basics.

To put it simply, sometimes we need a hug and sometimes we need a kick up the butt! I want to fall somewhere in between, after the hug and before the kick.

I just can’t go with the huggy posts any more. They are a few second pick me up, people almost become junkies on them, needing another fix the next morning. My phone is full of them, I never remember them, which is how I know. Nor do I remember to make a vision board.

I often follow the advice of an old school teacher, take a moment to be impressed that I’ve remembered this for over 50 years, which was:

So this is an exploration, it’s very experimental, and I’ll be interested to hear what you feel about it. Am I hitting the right note? Too blunt sometimes? Appreciate the humour? Finding it useful. That sort of thing.

Just one more attempt to make life easier, I’ll get a little more rebellious as I feel my way forward.

With love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
