The most important invention in your lifetime is…

My new Facebook and Instagram logo

I seriously can’t pick one out of the many things that have changed the way we live. Most things have pros and cons.

  • I love my smartphone and wish they hadn’t been invented.
  • I love online shopping but going shopping is more active.
  • I love my computer but hacking is a worry.
  • I love having a car but a walk to and from the bus stop or train station have you those daily steps…and fresh air.
  • I love my TV but the overwhelming number of programmes to look through does my head in. I often turn the TV off.
  • I love AI, it made it possible for me to create a logo, but I’m concerned about the misuse.
  • I love our electric car, but…actually no buts here, it’s gorgeous.
  • I do love my dentists 3D printing machine that can make a strong, perfectly sized, temporary crown in 3 minutes. I just don’t love needing one.
  • I love social media but not what some people do with it., aced but the way the companies are monetising everything and pressuring you to advertise. Facebook keeps asking me to promote my personal posts. I’m not impressed. I can see being charged a fee to be on there at some point.

You get the picture.

That last one brings me to my absolute pet hate: billionaires who screw the general public for every penny they can. There should be a law against it. People can’t afford the simplest and boost basic things, then companies declare record profits.

Modern life has many advancements that come under the heading of double edged swords. In balance I preferred the simpler life of my youth.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
