Common Problem

Come up with a crazy business idea.

Many business ideas are crazy. You start off with enthusiasm believing that you can offer something to the world and it will sell, then you find out that the only person who really loves the idea is you.

In the end you conclude that the only crazy thing about starting a business is the idea that you thought it was a good idea. You see you did all the planning, but you didn’t factor yourself and who you are into the equation.

Your idea was good, your execution was good, but you thought the idea would sell itself. Crazily you forgot that weren’t a salesman, and the only marketing you understand is the one where you get fresh meat and veg on a Saturday.

Crazy to even think about it! But then the world would be a boring place if there was no crazy.

A-void

That’s my business name. I’m selling space and time for you to sit down and think carefully about what you’re doing and why. To write down everything you can think of about your business, add make sure you really have taken everything you need to into consideration, especially yourself.

We all need a-void to step into, an uninterrupted space beyond time where we can take stock and a-void stepping in where angels fear to tread. Where we can a-void making a huge mistake.

The void would be a room with a table, a chair, no window, and the door would be on a one hour timer. Just you, a pen and paper, and thinking time.

I think I should charge at least £500 an hourotherwise people won’t think it’s of any value. I know I won’t need to advertise it as it’s a brilliant idea and people will be queuing up to step into the void and throw their money in before them. It can’t fail.

Having a-voided the need for a marketing plan, the idea is too simple to need one, and spent lots of money on beautiful mood lighting, perfect little biscuits, fabulous coffee, and natural oil scented air fresheners. I will sit back and wait for the hoards to arrive.

And that dear readers is how so many businesses start off with enthusiasm, fail at the feet of inexperience, and fall into the void of bad ideas and over enthusiasm. However,I still think providing the time to think is an idea worth thinking about. I’m sure it could work.

😉

Best love

Thought this was both funny and apt. The void is full of New Year’s resolutions.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
