Caring for cats really is a sport.

In every cat household there is a head cat. In ours it’s the youngest and tiniest.
There is supposed to be a pecking order that the oldest cat rules the roost. Lily ignored this completely and took over when she was half the size of a small loaf of bread.
She is the most utterly determined cat we’ve ever had. Very clear what she wants, and utterly adorable.
When we put food down she does a kind of slalom around the room, walking in front of the others and gently deflecting them so that she gets there first. Then she examines each bowl, chooses one, only then can they eat. The others are really good with her.
Her team uniform is a variation on a theme.

Hito, our brown fluffy, is the guard cat. If something makes her nervous she will walk with him putting him between herself and whatever it is.

Nero was mummy cat, yes he’s a boy, but he mothered those kittens from the moment they arrived. She will often cuddle up with him in the wardrobe. He’s also brown.

Marcus is playmate and they charge around the house making a heck a racket. I think he’s head of fun. He’s black with brown highlights.

Mimzy, her sister, is garden playmate and second cuddler in command. Lily likes to have Mimzy close in case she needs help hunting wildlife – which is heavily frowned upon! Mimzy is white with black and brown markings.
So I guess my team is feline, they’re largely uncontrollable, too adorable for our own good, the dominant team colour is brown so that Lily stands out, and she is the manager.
We’re just there for cuddles, food delivery, and finding toys under things.
And we love it.
Best love
