Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?
This just about sums it up
I haven’t had a family Christmas or Easter for decades.
Since I’ve inherited a daughter and her family she does spoil us when we go to see them and it’s really nice. I had an amazing cake for my birthday. It’s all very new and much appreciated.
Only the lonely
Many people are alone, and when you are holidays begin to matter less and less. As do birthdays.
It’s not about being downbeat, just a fact.
Your family drive you nuts?
If you struggle with them remember how lucky you are, a bit of irritation is well worth it if you have them in your life.
I’d have my mum and dad back at their irritating best and count myself blessed.
Empty question?
For me, as for a lot of people this question is a reminder of what we don’t have. But if you’re very lucky you do have all the fantastic memories of what you did have. That counts for a lot.
As to cooking?
We do basic. Last Christmas the beef was still raw when all the vegetables were cooked, so we threw it in the bin and ate the veg. As such it’s a really good job we’re not foodies.
Give us a glass of wine and our cats and we’re pretty much content.
Best love, I’ll write something more upbeat tomorrow.
I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
