Quick and Simple

What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?

That’s a meal, right?

It would be for me if I could eat it, but I’m gluten free so this is a dream.

We stick to very simple meals because we eat to live we don’t live to eat. Food has never really interested me in my life, less so when I had to eat years of meals alone because hubby turned up after 8pm most nights. I completely lost interest at that point.

So no thrilling answer today, unless couldn’t care less is a menu item.

However

I can’t help thinking of Gaza and other places in the world, where the answer to this might be a bowl of rice, a slice of bread, a potato, or even a glass of water.

Makes you think doesn’t it.

Best love

Looking forward to more appetising answers

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. My niece is a kind of complainer every time we serve her, and we deeply remind her that many children starve to death now, especially in war zones like Gaza. So heartbreaking. She must be grateful, I remind her.

    1. My mum said the same thing to me about the children of India when I was about 3. Then she had a heck of a time with me because I wanted to get all our food and send it to them. Apparently I gave her my plate and told her to send it to them and was in tears.

    2. Allergies do come to mind though. I recall my mum forcing me to eat bread, I would also take the top off pie and only eat the inside. In later years I discovered I’m intolerant of what, I also have never in my life eaten much. Maybe there’s something in that. See if there are things she eats happily and others not. Children have a funny way of knowing. Love to you and your family xx

      1. She loves egg very much and eat it daily. She’s a picky eater indeed. Her Mama provides the best of her for her to just eat. We’ll do our best for her to grow grateful.

      2. We’re doing our best, Deb. There’s outside influence, but praying that she’ll grow a good girl. I appreciate you and your kind words, Deb.
