What podcasts are you listening to?

One of my AI experiments

I hate podcasts. Don’t ask me why, my guess is that I’m visual and don’t like disembodied voices talking to me. Yet if I really want to remember something I will close my eyes. As such that doesn’t make sense.

I definitely prefer the presence of people to that of technology though.

Another related story

Years ago when in was in senior school one of my teachers complained to my parents at a parent-teachers evening that I didn’t listen to her, I sat looking out of the window. Mum said “try asking her to repeat what you said”.

At the next lesson she did. I asked her how far back she wanted me to go, she said as far back as I could remember. So I started at the beginning and kept going until she stopped me.

This makes it even harder to believe that my lack of love for podcasts is lack of human contact.

The conclusion must be that I’m as confused as anyone else by this weird thing to dislike. But I do.

I struggle with videos too. Again I prefer live broadcasts. Which also makes zero sense because I love TV.

We’re all different I guess and that’s okay. It’s also okay not to know why. It’s even more important to celebrate the weirdness that is you.

We all have our place, and who would watch videos if everyone loved podcasts. Who would listen to podcasts if we all preferred TV. Who would appreciate nature if everyone wanted to be indoors listening to podcasts and watching TV?

Being different is a public service! Everyone keeps someone happy.

On that happy note, go forth and be different. Enjoy your weirdness and celebrate the uniqueness that is you. It’s all God’s plan.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
