What historical event fascinates you the most?

The sailing ship that was discovered adrift in the Azores with one lifeboat missing, in 1872.
The ship was in a “dishevelled” state but seaworthy, and under partial sail. Those on board missing never to be heard of again.
The last entry in her log was dated ten days earlier. She had left New York City for Genoa on November 7, was well provisioned, with her cargo of alcohol intact. The captain’s and crew’s personal belongings were undisturbed. None of those who had been on board were ever seen or heard from again.
It remains a mystery to this day.
Bit like today in the UK
Which will go down in history as the day a prince was reduced to a Mr (Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor), and the truth of what happened will be as elusive as the answer to the Marie Celeste.
As a private citizen he could write a tell-all book, but that’s unlikely. However, his ex-wife is not bound by any rules of family. So there are mutterings of “cue the tell-all book”.
Ugh.
However, these days of cancel-culture and media interference mean that fair trials are often impossible, so the victims don’t get justice either and an innocent person may have lost everything.
This world is a bigger mystery at times than that drifting ship, and completely morally disheveled.
Hey ho
Have a lovely day
Best love
