Staying True to Myself

What principles define how you live?

When you try to be a decent person you will be subject to a great deal of pressure not to be woke, a looney leftie, and many other unkind things.

Even close friends have described me as naive, which didn’t impress me at all.

They think I see the world through unrealistic eyes, whereas I see the world the way it ought to be. A kind, compassionate, connected, inclusive, respectful and loving place.

A place where so many problems could be solved if people just stopped playing games, turning to violence, finding reasons to hate each other, lying, cheating, stealing, and killing.

To me people value the wrong things, success at any price being one. The ability to be sarcastic and deliver a great put down being another.

Governments mismanage to ridiculous proportions, squandering our money.

Trolls on social media think they’re so wonderful delivering vile comment after vile comment, and thinking they’re clever and justified. They’re just rude. You don’t need intelligence to be rude.

In amongst all this, the people who deserve respect for holding the line for decency get called rude names.

Well I don’t care. I will stay true to the vision of the world I want to see, where a troll is just a cute comic character from a children’s story.

The other type are way too ugly.

I’m sorry this isn’t a cheery blog, I much prefer trying to be amusing, but it’s never been more important to hold the line for more respect, inclusion, connection, and decency. Trying to help with that defines me, and those are the things that matter.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
