Doubting Thomas?

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Very simple:

When in doubt – don’t

Fear of doubt

We tend to worry when we can’t make up our minds what to do, yet we never ask ourselves…

What if all the choices I have in mind at the moment are wrong? What if I’m doubting because the right solution isn’t there?

Next time you’re mired in doubt, stand back and ask that question, and do nothing until the solution is obvious.

Procrastination

You may feel that you’re procrastinating, just remember that’s a fancy word for doubt.

Three tips

  • Trust yourself: The only way you’ll learn that is to try things, learn from mistakes, and bring yourself to a place that you feel confident in your ability to guide your life. You’ll never trust yourself if you’re afraid to learn about you.
  • Don’t dwell on mistakes: Yes you married the wrong person, then partnered with the wrong person again. Took a job that was wrong for you then did that again. All the time you focus on past mistakes you’ll keep making. Use them as warning claxons! You’ve tensed up, you’ve been here before, you know what to do. Do it.
  • Never be afraid not to act: The right thing sometimes takes a while to appear. Dig in, wait it out, be mindful and aware, actively seek the answer or you’ll miss it. But…

Be more afraid to act on uncertainty than to wait, watch, and get very clear in your mind what you want.

Sometimes all doubt is, is lack of focus.

Focus on your life, your dreams, think about what you need, what makes you happy, and recognise a no when you see it – or don’t see a yes.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
