It’s all very well thinking good thoughts, but if you surround yourself with people who make that difficult, stick with jobs, hobbies, relationships, that are destroying you, you will find staying in a happy mindset very difficult.
Mind and life have to be compatible
Don’t stay in places or with people that are hurting you, then lecture your mind for not being positive. Give it something to be positive about.
Don’t play the blame game
If something is wrong don’t waste time blaming yourself or others. That’s time you could spend looking for a way out.
It’s gone wrong – get out
Yes you may have made mistakes so sit down and work out what they are, then you can use that information to avoid a repeat.
You can also use what ‘they’ did as warning signs in the future. You’ve been treated like this before – leave rapidly.
You can’t always run
So having the knowledge from past mistakes, plus what you can and can’t cope with, will help you to avoid needing to get out. However…
Don’t feel bad that there are behaviours that trigger you
Your past created you. It had an effect, you can heal from that but you may not be able to erase it.
Work with who you are
It’s all you have, and it’s not for anyone to define what you can and can’t deal with, only you have that right.
Love – laughter – and happiness
Are not a ridiculous aim. Would you buy rotten fruit? No. Don’t let anyone convince you that the better emotions are a ridiculous dream and the horrible ones are reality.
It is not true
The better emotions are the only sensible aim in life. Chase them down and don’t let them go.
