I Have Precedent

Do you see yourself as a leader?

What is a Leader?

A true leader nurtures
they lead from behind
they empower and encourage
and that’s how they build a strong team
and success

Bullies are not leaders
The great I Am are not leaders
Those who think they know everything
and trust no one else to do their job
are not leaders

Every human is valuable
encourage them and you will see
the best of them
Keep putting them down
and you will see the life go out of them

There will be no spirit
no enthusiasm
no joy in what they do
And as ever

We are back to the old cliches
love - decency - respect - kindness
Yet those things bring out the best
They are how you create a team

If you’re going to lead
you need a team behind you
If you bully that team
you will land up like the general
who screams ‘charge!’
Only to discover that his troops have left

You will lose your best people
your most effective workers at every level
If you don’t truly know how to lead
But some wise soul
will build an amazing company
or organisation
or charity
or theatre group
with the very people you tried to destroy

Because they saw their worth
If you can’t see the worth of even
the lowest paid worker
You are not a leader

People matter
success follows

Seen this in action

Because my parents took me out of school without one useful exam result, I had a working lifetime of this.

My husband was at the other end of the scale, yet he has had bosses who think that bullying works. Of course they’d call themselves strong and decisive. He’s also had bosses that didn’t trust anyone but themselves, so he was never able to do his job properly.

Poor leadership appears at every level of life, but it depends what you think leadership is.

Too many world leaders are anything but. They have power without responsibility to every single human within their control. That’s not leadership. Killing isn’t leadership.

But then we know that

How did they miss out on the lesson?

Best love

Prayers to everyone in war torn zones or suffering from violence.

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
