War

If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

This is the tip of the iceberg when it choices to death in wars!

The Killer Word

This word
This killer word
This
‘One man wishes to kill millions’
Word
I will not own

It is a crime against humanity
Against children
Against animals
Against wellbeing
Against the human rights it trashes

Against the very Earth itself

We die because ‘they’ choose it
By what right?
And no one will stop the scum
Oozing across this world
Because they fear them

They fear the fearful
The mentally mal adjusted
The cruel and the callous
The scared
Or

Do we see only one way
To meet conflict
With conflict?
Does that trap us in the past?

Yes
But we cannot go there again
Three times is no charm

There must be a new way
To eradicate this word
A way that paralyses the war mongers

But that will not happen
Until some men grow up
It is that simple
And that heartbreaking

But it can happen if the right souls unite

War is not power
It is cowardice
You send others to die
Turning them into killers

While we wonder why you were born

With respect to the overwhelming number of good men in this world.

P.S.

Yesterday I started going through all my old poetry, and missed any number of tiny corrections which I will put right today. 🤣🙄😱

It made me realise that at heart I’m a poet. So I decided to try to turn every answer to the daily question into a poem. Is this one great? No, but it feels better than prose for a difficult emotional subject.

Writing this made me realise that those many cemeteries full of war graves are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to death in war. Most deaths are remembered in the forgotten graves of ordinary people without the power to say no.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx

  1. You wrote the poem very well, Deb. However, the theme of it is heartbreaking. We don’t desire war and chaos. We just want peace in the world. But the world has it undeniably, and all I can do is have peace in myself to spread it to others.

    1. It’s hard to face Hazel but the more voices who face it and say no the better. I agree that we can only do it one heart at a time, or as writers maybe a few more. Your blogs are the peace we should all know. Everywhere. Family, friends, purpose. Xx
