Meditation

What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

The centuries old tradition of meditation has continued because its benefits are well documented and passed down for thousands of years.

I use guided meditations because I need a mindset shift, but I also spend time just relaxing my mind.

It’s best done sitting upright on a comfortable chair, feet flat on the floor, hands resting on your knees. No need to assume any complex positions, or sit crossed legged on the floor. You can lie down if sitting up is hard.

I accidentally typed heads resting on your knees, which I guess would look something like this. 🤣

Don’t make feeling good difficult

It’s too easy to avoid positive change by making it complex.

  • You don’t have time to meditate. Three minutes relaxing the mind and body is a great start. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
  • You can’t relax, no problem, it’s what you’re learning to do. Start at your feet ‘my feet are relaxed, my ankles are relaxed’, work all the way up your body to the top of your head. After a bit you’ll feel them relaxing.
  • Don’t try to stop the conscious mind thinking, if thoughts appear allow them, as you practice it will stop.
  • You have to have a quiet space for an hour but you have three kids, no partner, a dog, two cats, and a full time job. A few minutes in bed at night and a few minutes on waking, will made a difference. You may have to be a speed-meditator.
  • If you enjoy music play something orchestral that you love. Just listen, pick out each instrument. Focus.
  • Sit comfortably, anything else will distract you.
  • Don’t make rules that if it isn’t perfect it isn’t working. That being disturbed has wrecked the vibe.
  • When you finish you’re so relaxed and happy, ten seconds later someone creates intense anger or stress, all is not lost. You meditate now, you know how to get rid of it.

My groups’ favourite meditation

When you’re not driving, mountain climbing, operating heavy machinery, and have made sure the kids and pets are fed:

Close your eyes.

Imagine you’re looking out through the centre of your forehead into space. Relax and look around. Float over and see the moon, investigate Saturn.

Space suddenly becomes vaster, you can see a million stars. Focus and enjoy.

Through the top of your head a pure white light enters your body and flows all around you. It’s a cleansing.

Then a beautiful, sparkly, vibrant, golden light enters through the top of your head, flowing through your body and all around you. This is Source, the foundation of the universe, love and perfection. Relax and enjoy. Love heals all.

When you’re ready open your eyes.

That’s it, 30 seconds if necessary. Close your eyes for a moment in a tense situation, see space, breathe, open them. You can leave a tense meeting, nip to the toilets, or outside, visualise space for a couple of minutes and go back refreshed. If it’s a really tense situation pull in the golden light and leave it floating around you.

If this feels right to you it will work. If not it’s an idea…what would work for you? Sitting in a dense forest? On a cliff? On a beach? Just look out through the third eye in the centre of the forehead to ‘see it’. Make it a deliberate intention. I will feel better. I choose to.

We use space because the quantum field is pure and cleanses and heals at an atomic level. But what works for you is best. Trust that.

Best love

Hope this is useful, please let me know, I do have space for another group or in existing groups. All on line, UK time 11 am or 7 pm, 2 hour meetings, nightwear welcome. Fortnightly.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
