I’m a Mental Chef

What’s your favorite recipe?

My chocolate Cloppy

I’d only want to cook chocolate, but I have no idea how to make it.

I have very little interest in food. Never did. As a young child I ate three digestive biscuits a day for two years, nothing else, and I was perfectly healthy.

I was dragged to the doctors several times and he pointed out that I was the only child in my class that he hadn’t seen that year. He said “she will eat what she fancies and what she eats will do her good.” I think that’s a wonderful mantra.

Beliefs

Are so important. Most of my life I’ve been a person torn between a lot of strong core beliefs that feel absolutely right to me, and acute anxiety. It’s a disturbing mix. Positive on the one hand, negative voice arguing back on the other. Mental tug of war.

Let me clarify those beliefs though, they are personal and about my life and the way I live it. About who I want to be, which as you know is about being a loving force in this world.

The other force in this world is fear, emotionally I’ve had enough of that to last ten lifetimes. Culturally it’s what tears us apart and causes wars.

Fear destroys, love heals. Simple.

Thoughts and words

If you want a mind filled with fear and hate good luck. You’re poisoning yourself, just please own it and don’t go round the streets looking for whose fault it is, or starting wars.

If you want a happy life think happy thoughts. Find things that make you smile. Meet up with friends. Watch comedies. Play with your children. Tell appropriate jokes at work. Create joy and you well feel joyful.

That’s healing. Fear and hate are not. Thousands are dying due to those emotions right now.

Make up some good mantras that feel right to you. Repeat them if the smallest moment of anger, anxiety, or depression, tries to creep up on you. Do not put one single negative in them.

A very old one came from a British comedy of the 1970s. “Every day in every way I am getting better and better.”

“Freedom, happiness, and perfect health”, state clearly that you are those things right now.

The law of attraction says that you must believe that you are already what you want to be. It makes sense. Only you can create it, only you can be the change you want to see. Only you can make it manifest.

There’s a line in the Bible that talks about making manifest God within. God the great creator. It suggests that when we were created we were gifted at the power we need to live our own life in our own terms.

It suggests that we are good enough.

Make your terms excellent, with the sole exception of real life issues such as the loss of a loved one or pet, accept no garbage into your life.

Find a good way to state what you really want, train your mind to think about it, and move away from that situation as fast as you can.

Think good thoughts over and over again, especially as you drop off to sleep.

Tomorrow will be a great day and I will feel amazing. Repeat today is a great day and I feel amazing immediately you wake up.

Saying good things will help you correct what’s not the best, and create what’s wonderful.

Why do this?

Your subconscious

We train it. It’s not something working away secretly somewhere. We populate it. We programme it.

It works very much like the Law of Attraction. What you tell it, it will deliver back to you in the shape of your life.

It will keep you in old patterns that hurt you. If you think about the past it will deliver more of what you had.

If you think you’re unworthy it will draw you to people and things that make you feel that way.

Have you ever asked yourself how you can possibly have made that stupid mistake again? Because you’re not trained to accept nothing but good, great, and wonderful.

The good news is that you can undo your training any time you like.

Have a negative thought, counter straight away.

You can just repeat the simple words above. If you’re a believer you can say “God created me in his own image, which is perfect, whole, complete, and only love.” You can say that anyway.

I haven’t finished the book about the workings of the subconscious mind yet, so I don’t understand a lot. But I do know this, take responsibility for your thoughts going forward, accept no negativity, programme that subconscious with only good, great, and wonderful.

So some of my favourite recipes are…

I was created to be happy, healthy, energised, creative, and vibrant. That is who I am.

Another is: every cell, organ, and atom of my body and being is in perfect health, whole and complete.

An annoyingly frequent one is: subconscious mind, do not listen to that crap, my conscious mind is being disruptive again. Think this… Followed by something much better.

My favourite? Chocolate is made from the cocoa bean therefore it’s health food. But buy the good stuff and don’t eat too much. 😉

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
