Awkward Question

What do you love about where you live?

Where I live is actually very nice, it has a fantastic road system and a nice indoor shopping centre, and plenty of services. There is no reason not to like it, except I don’t.

I’ve never settled here and I can’t explain it except to say that the right place is the right place. Anything not the right place is not the wrong place, it’s just not your place. That’s okay.

Humans have a tendency to judge that anything not right for them is flawed in some way. We can also struggle to deal with those who don’t see life the way we do.

Then you have the stubborn people who pride themselves on their inflexibility and trap themselves in a pattern that doesn’t allow for change. They’ll stay where they’re miserable to prove they’re not wrong.

As a race we need to relax, enjoy differences, and recognise that it’s okay not to like something or somewhere, or to disagree with someone.

What’s not okay is to believe that your feelings and opinions are right for everyone, and that it’s okay to insult and criticise something you don’t like or someone you disagree with.

I live in a perfectly lovely town. It’s just not my kind of place.

No one’s fault, not even mine.

Just accept where you don’t fit or who you don’t gel with, and move on.

Best love

My kind of town

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
