The World

What bothers you and why?

I really wanted to write a lighthearted blog, especially as being bothered by the entire world is a big task for one person. But who could fail to be bothered by the state of the world today? Only someone who’s never seen a television, doesn’t encounter the news, and lives a small country away from the chaos.

Yet the problem is even bigger!

This big

The world which we are wrecking and we do not care. Speaking generally of course.

I’m only one person how do I write about this? How do I detail the damage humanity is doing to each other and the planet, without causing infinite queues at doctors’ offices for anti depressants?

Yes I’m wording this lightly, but come on, I have the weight of the world plus 8 billion people, too many of them selfish, on my shoulders. Let’s not forget the animal kingdom that we’re decimating.

Dear Lord it’s a lot. So let’s cut to the chase!

Shape up or we will be shipped out

If humanity doesn’t wake up, then this world has very little hope.

It will take all of us to change to bring about the improvements that are needed at every level of society.

It will take governments to get together and reset the world.

It will take God (choose your own spelling) to grab some so called religious souls by the throat and explain to them how powerful He is and how wrong they are. Wouldn’t that be nice.

It will take the general public everywhere to say no to the warmongers, demand peace, and do so in our billions.

But will we?

That’s what makes me sad.

Cue the antidepressants

Sorry to be so blunt, but from the rudeness, trolling, and lying on social media, through to the promotion of outright child and animal abuse. We are society that needs to shape up right now. Social media has shown us what too many of us are.

Yes I would rather have written a happy blog full of jokes and witticisms today, but then I would just be another person turning my back, telling my self it (WWIII) probably won’t happen, and convincing myself that there’s nothing I can do anyway.

I would be turning my back on Gaza and the Ukraine, and the children. On every country in the world where people are suffering and dying due to climate change.

I would be turning my back on the animals and the insects, the fish and the birds, who are part of our ecosystem, part of natural selection, who can control pests and maintain natural balance. The creatures we are wiping out faster than ever.

Our garden is a state, because we will not use slug pellets, we will not use weed killer except on the most stubborn weeds and then only once a year and specifically targeted. We leave the dandelions to flower in the lawn for the bees. We do what little we can whenever we can.

This planet is our home. Our only home.

Anyway…

I suggest meditation rather than antidepressants, hope I haven’t dragged you down, but I trust writers to be thinkers and I’m pretty sure 90% of you will be thinking about this anyway.

Let’s just say, do, and write whatever we can. It’s all we can do, and it is something.

Best love wherever you are and whomever you are – you matter

Gaza and Ukraine – never forgotten

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
