Nature

List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.

Cover those senses up and expect chaos!

1. The sun rises in the East and sets in the west. I know because I can see it and it’s never changed. I also have a compass.

My husband told my mum it was the other way round in New Zealand. She believed him, bless her.

2. Birds sing. I know because I now have hearing support, and I will never ever take birdsong for granted again. It’s twice as beautiful to me. I know because it can be heard.

Without my enhanced hearing birdsong may never have reached my heart in the way it does now

3. Cats are very loving, but they’re also quid pro quo. Ignore a cat and it will teach you what it really means to be ignored. Love a cat and it will show you what love can mean. I know because I’m up to number 14.

The late and never forgotten Charlie – number 8

4. We need to take care of the planet more and stop being so selfish. I don’t care what climate change deniers say, my eyes and ears tell me that more people are dying through extreme weather events than ever before in modern history. Plus we’re running out of resources. Hence lab grown meat.

5. Politicians lie because we don’t want the truth. We the public are the problem in many countries. They’re just firefighting. This is true because we’re asking the few to undo the sins of the many. Such as claiming benefits when you don’t need them and then spending them on cigarettes and liquor; violence on the streets. We have to be the change we want to see.

6. If you don’t solve a problem it remains a problem. We all know that.

7. Every angry thought you think and word you speak affects you. If you don’t believe me monitor your body and mind when you’re angry. If you don’t notice a real difference to how you feel when you’re happy and relaxed, you’ve probably been stressed for far too long. We know that stress and tension cause illness, don’t cause yourself stress and tension. There are plenty of people who will happily do that for you, don’t let them make you ill. Many, many people including scientists know this to be true.

8. Stay with people you feel good around and are happy when they’re with you, the indifferent or those who dislike you should not be near you. That’s how you avoid point 7. I’ve been around long enough to say that I know this to be true. More importantly I feel it and I don’t like the feelings when I’m around people who choose stress and misery over life, loving, and laughter.

9. You are the power in your life, it may not feel like it, but you are. Only you can put things right. If you have no idea where to start, go to the self-help section of a bookshop or online retailer, and buy the first book that jumps out at you before you read what it’s about. Obviously check, but in my very real experience, the right book will jump out at you very clearly. You won’t change based on old knowledge and training, only on training yourself in new beliefs that fit you. I know this because I learned the hard way.

My latest assault by a book “buy me buy me”

10. I know that love is the answer to everything. It is the greatest healer there is, simply because fear causes bad things, and love changes everything for the better. If you have felt love you will know that too. I know because I’ve seen, heard, and felt, the damage, and the healing.

There are only two emotions: love and fear. All positive emotions come from love, all negative emotions from fear. From love flows happiness, contentment, peace, and joy. From fear comes anger, hate, anxiety and guilt. It’s true that there are only two primary emotions, love and fear. But it’s more accurate to say that there is only love or fear, for we cannot feel these two emotions together, at exactly the same time. They’re opposites. If we’re in fear, we are not in a place of love. When we’re in a place of love, we cannot be in a place of fear.

Elisabeth Kubler Ross

I hear – I see – I experience – I know

The windows to the soul

I kept repeating that I know this because I have seen it, heard it, experienced it. To me this is important because it helps you to build a strong inner core and sense of self.

If you hear words, see if the actions match.

If you have a big decision to make, such as to go into or continue with a relationship; take up a career or change your job; move house or country; it’s important that you work with the sixth sense. Feeling. It’s made up of all the information you take in from the five senses.

Some call that the psychic sense and it is, in terms of us all being able to pick up on the energy around us and translate it to useful knowledge. Psychics aren’t special or different, they just know they’re psychic, and as with all abilities the more you train it the sharper it is.

You need that sixth sense to be as sharp as possible. Never ignore it. In life you may see something and it doesn’t impact, you may hear something that makes you tense up a bit, but immediately move on and forget it. When you’re trying to make a decision your feelings will remind you.

If you suddenly become uncomfortable, take note. If you’re trying to make a decision reflect on what you know not a guess, not making something fit because it would be nice if it did, what you know. Never ignore yourself.

If you do this then you will know when you know and what you know, and if it feels right it is truth.

I’ll leave you with a wonderful saying I heard recently, and it should work as a terrible warning:

When the intellect kicks in, allow it to drop a foot.

If you live from the head, in pure logic, driven by mind shenanigans, you may never make the right decision. If you allow your mind to do its work, then drop that conclusion down into your heart, you will know if it’s right or wrong.

Take heart

Big love

Wonderful day

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
