Why I Love God

I have always been a thinker, a person who ponders on life to the point that I sometimes drive myself crazy, especially about things I can’t solve or create, such as violence, lying, cheating, stealing, and world peace.

The human race seems to be losing itself faster every year. You do have millions of decent, kind, loving people out there, who wouldn’t hurt a fly, but I think we’re all equally shocked at what we’re seeing all over the world. The selfishness, the sense of I rather than we, the acceptance of shocking behaviour. So what do we do? Because we have to do something.

I’m not a person who tends to push the God factor in life. I see God as an entirely different to what’s taught in the Bible. Not a man, but the Universal Energy, Source, one with everything.

I use the name God because it’s easy to spell, and of course it’s just the English spelling of the name for this energy. However, there is one aspect of the Christian God as stated in the Bible that I absolutely adore, because to me it’s a symbol of everything that could be right in this world.

As you may imagine, it blends beautifully with my work and what I want to bring to this world. The anti-hate and violence voice. After all, Moses did channel “Thou shalt not kill” as part of the Commandments in the old Testatement. Put the two together and you have a very good guide for lilfe.

It’s worth noting that it is a blanket statement, it doesn’t say ‘unless they’re a different skin colour, or gender, or religion, or race, or an animal, insect, or fly’. It simply says don’t kill.

It surprises me how hard it is for humans to understand this, and that millions don’t want to embody it. Why would you not want a loving and lovely, safe, world to live in? Have fun, not war.

Don’t worry, my ego is in check and I don’t think I’m the return of Jesus. This statement referred to the idea of Jesus as the incarnate word of God, not found in the Bible but referenced in the Gospel of John.

However, shouldn’t we all be the word? If you don’t resonate with the idea of a deity, what is wrong with being the word of love? A word that saves lives, requires respect, inclusion, and tolerance. Calls for compassion, gentleness, listening, hearing, understanding, acceptance.

If we came from a life affirming place of respect would there even be a need for tolerance and acceptance? Or would they be the norm? It should be.

If we want a happy world where we’re not heartbroken by what we see on our news every night, then it’s time to take these two very simple statements to heart and make them real. That’s one thing humans often don’t think about:

The greatest influencers are people that others can respect because they are what they preach. The more of us who can be that person the better.

After all, nothing happens in isolation, by not doing everything we can at every level we can, we are allowing violence and crime within our societies to proliferate. Anyone who can do something is a blessing in this world. We only need to do, and be, two simple things:

It’s not that hard. Please, if you can, be the change that will save the children, and you.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
