What are you most worried about for the future?

The state of the world today is something I could never have expected as a younger woman. The last two generations of my family lived through world wars, we thought some sense had been knocked into the world. Not so much it seems.
In fact our societies are more messed up on any number of levels. However, acknowledging this is enough but necessary because I’m going to sound Woke in a minute.
Choosing a reality
We all know that if we walk into a room filled with tension we pick it up. That one cranky person can start an argument that sets a group off. As such it’s neither ridiculous nor Woke to realise that we have to combat the negativity and stupidity in this world with more inclusive thinking.
I’m Woke enough not to be stupid and inhumane enough to start a war or turn to terrorism. You can put all the glamorous words to these things, all the important reasons, all the past (way in the past) sins, but at the end of the day they are simply cruelty and evil.
People who think like me know that we have one duty, to speak against this behaviour and hold the vision for a sane, safe, happy, world for all living beings and things.
My wish for us all
That everyone, everywhere, is safe, well, and happy. They are well fed, have proper shelter, plenty of water, and live peacefully in cohesive communities.
That nationality, gender, skin colour, money, and status, do not matter. That we live in a connected world not a divided one.
All for one and one for all
People tell me I’m a dreamer, but this isn’t a dream it is a necessity. Love has to triumph over hate and this won’t stop until it does.
It actually takes a lot of courage to stand up and be counted when so many think you’re a deluded fool who doesn’t understand the way the world is.
I do understand. I’m not impressed. I will not accept that this is the best humanity can do.
I can’t. Because of the children. All the children. All the innocents.
My heart goes out to Gaza, to Syria, to the Ukraine, and to all the places where people are suffering and I don’t know about it.
My heart also goes out to the victims of the October attack in Israel, and their families. The wait to know if someone is still alive must be an agony beyond measure. As well as all victims of war, terrorism, and crime, everywhere.
But my mind will stay firmly on the focus for a better world for all, an end to the fear that breeds violence, and that men in power will learn it’s their legacy that speaks for them.
There will be more than one world leader of today that will be reviled for all time, whose name will be a byword for atrocity. The power they have will mean nothing when they’re dead.
I sometimes visualise God standing at the Pearly Gates, hands on hips, saying ‘Which word of ‘Thou shalt not kill’ did you fail to understand? God away!”
Let’s do anything we can, however small, to be the solution.
Best love and stay safe
Deb xx

A lot of innocents are indeed sufferings somewhere in the world today, and I pray for their peace and endurance. Love will end wars, but sadly, there’s hate lurking.
