Double Edged Sword

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

I care a great deal about people, animals, and the planet, which is both a good thing and an exhausting one.

It can leave you trying to solve problems you can’t solve, such as the atrocities in first Ukraine, then Israel, then Gaza, and now it’s widening out. More innocents being hurt, maimed, and losing their lives. All because of a few men!

That’s only what we do know about.

Sorry decent guys, wish you were in charge, and I acknowledge that you exist in overwhelming numbers. Ever considered politics? Please!

As you will also know, when you genuinely care there are times that you have to shut down to protect your own mind, and you will also know that can be incredibly hard. Especially if someone you love, or a pet, is in trouble.

That’s the time to shut the wider world out and focus on you and yours.

In honesty though, it would be better for mental health if we all took at least a few hours a week to stop, rest and reflect. To read a good book, go for a walk, visit our happy place.

No athlete could maintain their fitness without rest, yet we ask our minds to keep on and on battling. Time to put our welfare right up there with everyone else, and realise that we’re no use to man nor pet nor beast if we’re on our knees trying to crawl into a hole to escape.

Caring must have its down time.

Best love

I'm a writer, public speaker, medium, and spiritual thinker. I suffered from acute anxiety from the age of 16 until I was well into my 50s, when I finally found methods that helped me to put it behind me. My struggles led to me exploring life through poetry, then plays, and over a 15 year period I made notes for a self help book which I published in 2015. Details on the book page. Although I am a psychic medium and loved the work, it didn’t feel right for me. It was an utter privilege, but my path was the exploration of what it means to be spirit in the real world and how we can make practical use of those abilities. Nowadays I write, blog, and teach soul-centred living, which is a gentle way of undoing past programming and connecting to your essential self, or soul. If you’re interested email me and we can chat. No pressure, it’s right for you or it’s not and you will know. The groups meet on line so no going out on cold, wet, winter’s evenings. On a personal note, I’m based in the UK. Married with five cats, no children, and four grandchildren, thanks to our inherited daughter, who has gifted us four beautiful little people that bring us such joy. Hope you enjoy the blogs. Deb xx
